Mission - By the grace of God, Fifth Christian Church will
humbly yet without apology share the life-changing, systems-transforming love of God through bringing
people to Jesus; caring for children and youth, the poor and the sick; and challenging unjust systems and
practices so that people living as close to us as Cleveland's Lee-Harvard area, across the United
States, and all the way to Africa might achieve their Kingdom of God potential. (Micah 6:1-8; Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 4:16-21;

Fifth Christian Church is a predominantly African American congregation open to all, located in the Lee-Harvard area (southeast side) of Cleveland,
Ohio . We are proudly affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a Protestant Christian denomination in the United States
and Canada (www.disciples.org).
Founded in 1964 under the visionary leadership of the late Rev. Dr. William W. Hannah, Fifth is
a strong, growing and vibrant congregation within both its community and denomination. Fifth has had three senior pastors in its 43
year history. They are the Rev. Dr. Hannah; the Rev. Dr. Timothy M. James, Sr.; and the third and current senior pastor, the Rev. Dr. Jack Sullivan, Jr.
